In recent years, with the dramatic progress in neuroscience (not to mention our understanding of the brain and the body), there has been an increased interest in near-death experiences, their meaning, nature and significance. Do they tell us anything about life, death and the after-life? Do they provide evidence for life after death? More generally, what do they reveal about the brain, the body, mind and consciousness?
