Phill Bullaro CD Release Party and the New Haven Improvisers Collective

Join us as we celebrate Phill's new CD - Golden Alien. First we'll be taken to the outer edges of the universe with the creative music of the New Haven Improviser's Collective, featuring Bob Gorry and many other talents. Then Phill will expand our listening pleasure with a trip beyond our universe with his new "electroacoustic" music.

This music attempts to go a little beyond our ken by trying to take it's listener outside the reaches of harmony, melody and time signature to a place where sound, noise and music fog into and out of one another like distant galaxies colliding." I want to create, share my musical space sounds and make sure its a little more left then right."

If you like creative, experimental, psychedelic music - this night is for you!

New Haven Improvisers Collective has its own language drawing on many sources with nods to jazz harmony and improvisation, structures from new art and classical music, raw energy and emotion from world folk styles and the fire of rock and roll.

NHIC is a far-reaching collective of creative musicians forming into a particular group to play particular music in a particular moment. NHIC is interaction, conflict, and harmony.

There was a very nice article in the New York Times about the New Haven Improvisers Collective and what they are up to here. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/01/nyregion/01musicct.html

NHIC has a new CD, Inflection. There were some strong reviews in the New Haven Advocate and the Hartford Courant.
