"A feast for the ears!" (Sarasota Herald Tribute, FL)

As the five key players from the wind section of the world-famous New York Philharmonic, Mark Nuccio (clarinet), Sherry Sylar (oboe), Erik Ralske (horn), Judith LeClair (bassoon) and Robert Langevin (flute) are known for their infectious sense of fun, energy and musicality. Joining PCMS on Sunday, December 7 at the Independence Seaport Museum, the Philharmonic Quintet of New York will perform a program of Ligeti, D'Rivera, Reicha, and the Philadelphia premiere of Maslanka's Wind Quintet.

The ensemble serves as an informal 'musical ambassador' for the New York Philharmonic, appearing regularly with the NY Philharmonic Ensembles Series. Shortly after their debut in 2001, the PQNY also performed one of the first concerts at the World Trade Center disaster site, set on raising morale for relief workers and residents in the wake of the tragedy. In turn, a whole series of concerts by New York Philharmonic musicians developed, leading to the Philharmonic Quintet of New York's current commitment to performing regularly for audiences and causes around the world.
