Pete Malinverni Performs at the Monk at 91 Piano Marathon October 10, 2008

Characterized by his improvisational style and elaborate compositions, Thelonious Monk was one of the most prolific innovators of jazz and a herald of bebop. This mini-marathon, part of an annual series, which counts down to Monk’s 100th birthday (October 10th), features several illustrious master pianists including Pete Malinverni, Geri Allen, Junior Mance, Ted Rosenthal and Chuchito Valdes.

Pete Malinverni teaches jazz piano at the Purchase College School of the Arts Conservatory of Music. He is a highly respected pianist on the local and national club scene, as well as a concert performer in the States and abroad.
