perthDAC is the seventh iteration of Digital Arts and Culture. DAC was the first conference to attract and present the work of researchers, practitioners and artists working across the field of digital arts, cultures, aesthetics and design. The first DAC conference took place in Bergen, Norway in 1998.

The DAC series started out as annual conferences, and are now held every second year.

DAC has an enviable reputation for academic rigour and egalitarianism. Scholars are supported in the development of their papers by direct, constructive reviews. DAC has no keynote speakers. All presenters are selected on blind peer review merit, and encouraged to go beyond their formal papers when presenting. DAC also emphasises a friendly, casual, work-shopping atmosphere.

DAC is administered by an international committee of scholars with regular turn over of membership. The current co-ordinator of the DAC committee is Adrian Miles

Following the Copenhagen DAC in 2005, the committee accepted a bid to hold the next DAC in Perth in 2007, to occur in conjunction with BEAP.

Registration is AU$500
