Following its sold out performances at Theater Artaud/ODC in 2008, Andanza Spanish Arts returns to the stage with another original program celebrating the eclectic musical and dance forms of Spain. Artistic Director Danica Sena together with special guest performers direct from Spain, Mapi Blasco and Lourdes Sanchez de la Rua, present a choreographic collaboration that stems from an investigative journey of Spanish art and culture, aptly named "Pergoleto" (Journey).

A cast of 20 dancers and musicians perform traditional forms from Galicia, Murcia, Castellon, Classical/Contemporary and Flamenco styles featuring original composition and guitar by Alfredo Caceres and vocals by Azriel "El Moreno".

Danica Sena, Artistic Director of Andanza Spanish Arts explains the inspiration behind "Pergoleto": "During a recent return visit to Spain, I was re-inspired by the sharing of cultures and traditions, old and contemporary and wanted to create a piece that could take American audiences on a virtual journey, pilgrimage through Spain, across the continents. I want to share with them a real sense of Spain's music, traditions and culture, but above all, its sense of community."

"Pergoleto" pairs authentic costumes with each eclectic musical piece and for the first time, Andanza Spanish Arts introduces Galician music into its program, which is rarely associated with Spain due to its strong Celtic influence.
