Peppino D'Agostino and Carlos Reyes World Music October 12, 2012

Virtuoso guitarist Peppino D'Agostino will re-unite with renowned jazz harpist and violinist Carlos Reyes on the Firehouse Theater stage. These two talented musicians return to once again blend their music in a spellbinding performance that highlights their individual and combined talents.

Acclaimed as a scholar, technician, master guitarist and poet, Peppino D'Agostino has collected an abundance of Acoustic Guitar Magazine awards. In 2008 alone, His Players' Choice Awards included Best Acoustic Album of All Time for Every Step of the Way, Guitarist of the Year-Fingerstyle Guitar and Acoustic Guitarist of the Year.

The Chicago Tribune praises his "virtuosity and complexity" as well as his gift for composing "memorable melodies." "I play Brazilian music, Irish music, country music, blues, ragtime, classical," says D'Agostino, naming just some of the many influences heard in his music. Simply put, "Peppino writes wonderful guitar pieces," according to guitar mega-star and friend Leo Kottke. "He's one of my favorite composers for this cranky instrument."

Jazz-rock harpist and violinist Carlos Reyes has been breaking musical barriers since his first public performance at the age of five. Born in Paraguay South America, he began his musical education at the age of three and a half on the violin. Carlos went on to master a number of instruments including guitar, bass, mandolin, keyboards, many of which he will bring to the Firehouse stage.

Carlos thrilled thousands of loyal bay area followers with the Jazz-Rock group Merlin. In addition Reyes has shared the stage with great artists from Chuck Mangione, Bill Evans, and MC Hammer to Wynona Judd, Clint Black, Willie Nelson and Steve Miller.

Peppino D'Agostino combines his extraordinary talent with the charismatic personality of talented Bay Area harpist and violinist Carlos Reyes for one night only. The Firehouse Arts Center is thrilled to re-unite these two internationally acclaimed musicians.
