Named after the world's most widely recognized five-note musical scale, this vocal quintet has transformed one of pop music's purest and most soulful expressions into an exciting future, filled with limitless sonic possibility. Pairing its intricate arrangements with cleverly reimagined pop songs, Pentatonix has quickly cultivated a sound and style that is entirely unique and undeniably infectious.

Pentatonix has that special a cappella swag, something that most singing groups tend to lack. They can sing, dance, harmonize, and put together a respectable arrangement in just minutes. Mitch Grassi, Scott Hoying, and Kirstie Maldonado formed a trio during high school together in Arlington, Texas. They added the final two members, Avi Kaplan and Kevin Olusola, the day before their audition on Season 3 of NBC's The Sing-Off, and PTX was born. The group won The Sing-Off, and has since been making strides in the music industry with its modern style and electronic sounds. Its debut EP, PTX Volume 1, was released on June 26, 2012 and will be supported by its inaugural headlining tour this fall and winter. Also appearing, Julia Easterlin.
