Penn Action Community Roundtable Event December 13, 2008

Penn Action "Invest In America's Future" Community Roundtable Erie, Pennsylvania - On Saturday, December 13 - at 10 am, Penn Action will sponsor a Community Roundtable event at St James AME Church (236 East 11 Street). With the upcoming second stimulus package (now estimated at 500+ BILLION dollars) on the agenda of the new Congress, it is imperative to address funding priorities and economic bottom line issues.

Issues on the agenda include job creation, development of new green technologies, extended food stamp and unemployment benefits, mortgage assistance, health care reform, enhanced mass transit, and additional important topics that will be brought up by attendees pertinent to their expertise.

The community roundtable will provide a forum to discuss how the Greater Erie community can plan to best utilize our available resources in view of the increasingly drastic economic crisis - and prepare our local, state, and federal level community leaders with a vision of how to best "Invest In America's Future" by being prepared with a 'second stimulus package' action plan for Greater Erie.

Panelist will include local, state, and federal public servants - as well as private sector and non-profit representatives.
