The Peggy Lee Band (Peggy Lee, cello; Brad Turner, trumpet; Jeremy Berkman, trombone; Ron Samworth, guitar; Andre Lachance, bass; Dylan van der Schyff, drums) with guest artists, Jon Bentley on saxophones and Tony Wilson on guitar, will present a program of original works, composed by Lee and improvised by members of the ensemble. The program will include new compositions and arrangements written by Lee for her ensemble and the guest artists.

The Peggy Lee Band was formed in 1998 as a vehicle for Peggy's compositions and to explore different strategies for improvisation within these compositions. The band has released three CDs on the label Spool and toured nationally and internationally to critical acclaim. The band is comprised of local greats whose individual sounds and strengths are critical to the band’s unique sound. Peggy Lee has developed a strong reputation for her performance on cello and in particular for her sublime approach to improvisation and extended playing as a soloist and with various ensembles.
