Boston, MA., April 2, 2009. The 2008-2009 Sovereign Bank Music Series at Berklee comes to a close with a BANG! A talented trio that can claim a Grammy, chart-topping hits, work with some of the industry’s finest, and performances on Broadway and stages around the world, return to campus as alumni of Singers Showcase for the event’s 25th anniversary. Paula Cole, Lalah Hathaway, and Liz Withers join some of the best student vocalists currently at the college on the Berklee Performance Center stage to celebrate this beloved tradition of showcasing megawatt singing star power. This skilled triumvirate, and others like Gillian Welch and Susan Tedeschi, are proof that many of these students will be looking at their future on stage.

Approximately 90 to 100 student vocalists audition for the chance to earn a coveted Singers Showcase spot. From that rich talent pool, 10 have been picked to perform in this year’s show: Phillip Ferrell, Mario Jose, Orlando Dixon, Ashley Rodriguez, Aryn Calhoun, Aubrey Logan, Tania Jones, Leslie Echevarria, Jenna O'Gara & Denise Hudson. Those chosen will put their stamp on the music of Ray Charles, Chaka Khan, Marvin Winans, Leona Lewis, Esperanza Spalding, and more.
