Paul Taylor's world-famous Taylor 2 to perform at American Dance Institute October 14, 2007

American Dance Institute continues to bring world-class performances to Montgomery County as it kicks off its 2007-2008 performance season with world-famous Taylor 2, the apprentice company of the critically-acclaimed Paul Taylor Dance Company. The performances, consisting of Paul Taylor’s masterworks Company B, Profiles, Duet from Roses and Esplanade, will be held on Saturday, October 13th at 8:00p.m. and Sunday, October 14th at 2:00 p.m.

Tickets for Taylor 2’s performances are priced at $25.00 for adults, and $15.00 for students, seniors 55 and older, children under 12 and for those with a DC DancePass. In addition to the performances, American Dance Institute will host a Master Class, open to DC area intermediate to advanced school and college dance students on Sunday, October 14th at 11:00 a.m. The cost for this class is $20.00 per student. In selecting repertoire for Taylor 2, Mr. Taylor chooses dances that represent the athleticism, humor and range of emotions found in his work. Taylor 2 was founded in 1993 by Mr. Taylor and was modeled after the original six member company he established in 1954. He formed Taylor 2 to ensure that his works could be seen by audiences all over the world and so many of his masterworks could be brought to smaller venues, such as American Dance Institute’s 140-seat performance studio, which was designed to give the feeling of a private performance.
