NEW YORK, NY – October 27 – Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE: BKS), the world's largest bookseller, today announced a very special evening as part of its "One on One Live" series, held at the Union Square Barnes & Noble in Manhattan (33 East 17th Street at Union Square). On Thursday, November 13, at 7pm, singer-songwriter Paul Simon, whose new book is Lyrics 1964-2008 (Simon & Schuster, November 11), will discuss his work in conversation with journalist Katherine Lanpher, who hosts the program. Admission is free, and no tickets are required. Seating is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

During his distinguished career Paul Simon (www.paulsimon.com) has been the recipient of many honors and awards including 12 Grammy Awards, three of which ("Bridge Over Troubled Water", "Still Crazy After All These Years" and "Graceland") were albums of the year. In 2003 he was given a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award for his work as half of the duo Simon and Garfunkel. He is an inductee of The Songwriters Hall of Fame and is in the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame both as a member of Simon and Garfunkel and as a solo artist. His song "Mrs. Robinson" from the motion picture "The Graduate" was named in the top ten of The American Film Institute's 100 Years 100 Songs. He was a recipient of The Kennedy Center Honors in 2003 and was named as one of Time Magazine's "100 People Who Shape Our World" in 2006.

Katherine Lanpher (www.katherinelanpher.com) is a writer and broadcaster who now makes her home in New York. In addition to "One on One," she hosts Barnes & Noble's "Upstairs at the Square" series. She has also hosted the award-winning satellite radio show "Moretime," a radio companion to More magazine, been the co-host of "The Al Franken Show'' on Air America Radio and the Sundance Channel, and is the former host of Minnesota Public Radio's "Midmorning'' show and its "Talking Volumes'' series. Her writing has appeared on both the op-ed and book review pages of The New York Times and she is a guest host for The Leonard Lopate Show and The Takeaway on WNYC. Springboard Press published her first book, Leap Days.
