WHAT:-PAUL MOONEY RETURNS HOME AFTER 25YEARS! PAUL MOONEY AND DICK GREGORY COME TO NOLA TO PERFORM THEIR NATIONALLY TOURING STAND-UP COMEDY SHOW CALLED
C-O-N-S-C-I-O-U-S! THE NATIONAL WAKE UP TOUR!

"My show is full of hilarious and real reflections of where we have been as A people, where we currently are, and where we obviously or obviously not so obviously need to go as A people. Hey its the election year and people need A real wake-up call-and like Edward G. Robinson use to say "I'm just the guy to give it to you-See"! (Mooney laughs as he does his impression). Along with Living legends like Dick Gregory who for many, many, years has been a voice for the people and A great political satirist. "We chose New Orleans and the Essence Festival as the second stop on our tour b/c its is symbolic. While we are listening to music and enjoying some of our greatest musical stars the- clock is ticking. That's why the graphic utilized for the tour displays just A few minutes left til midnight. We are in the 11th hour, and we all know what can happen when the clock strikes midnight'-Dick Gregory.

"Having both of these Cultural Icons on the same stage is better than A dream. Ruby Dee and Ossie Davis nick named our organization, (Black Repertory Group) and my grandparents (the founders) 'Keepers Of The Culture'. Paul is returning home to NOLA and so are the Singletons ( Founder Nora Belle Singleton-related to Long Standing Councilman Big Jim Singleton) We need NOLA to come on out and lend their support and it is our hope that this event will be a smashing HOME COMING success for Mr. Mooney that we can make A Bi-annual event. We chose the W Hotel because it is upscale and we want the tours supporters to enjoy the finest of comfort, however we still kept the price affordable . Tickets start as low as $25 and go up from there. (lots of people have already financially and rightfully supported THE ESSENCE MUSIC FESTIVAL, so we kept this in mind when we priced the event ). We will have two shows 8 and 10 p.m. doors open 1 hour before showtime and there is limited seating.
