Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation has just announced that the first indoor triathlon ever to be held in the Patterson Park Community Center will take place on November 10, 2007. The Sprint distance course, consisting of a 500-yard swim in the indoor pool, a 12-mile bike course on the stationary bikes and a 3.1-mile run on the 1/8 mile indoor track, will provide participating athletes a challenging and eventful race.
"This is a great event for beginners as well as a training tool for triathletes trying to stay in shape throughout the winter, says Chad Hill, Wellness/Fitness Coordinator and Race Director. The race begins at 8:30a.m. with individual starting times will be determined at registration. Competitors will be racing against the clock as well as other competitor times. There will be a staggered start and each individual will be timed during the entire event, including transition.
Further information concerning the race can be found at www.murfreesborotn.gov. Event questions and media inquiries can be directed to Chad Hill, Wellness Coordinator at 615-893-7439 or email: [email protected].
