The Queens Museum of Art and American Express are pleased to announce the schedule for the third season of Passport Fridays, the museum’s FREE annual outdoor summer festival of international music, dance and film. Set against the backdrop of beautiful Flushing Meadows Corona Park and the majestic Unisphere, Passport Fridays will take place on Friday evenings in July and August, 6:30 – 10:30 pm.
Beginning on July 6, this year’s journey around the globe begins in Mexico and includes stops in Brazil, Colombia, India, South Africa, Tunisia, China and Korea. Each evening begins with live dance and music performances followed by the feature film screening after sunset. In addition, the museum’s galleries will stay open until 8:00pm and kids can enjoy free art workshops between 6:30-8:00 pm.

Zeenat, an independent, headstrong Muslim woman from the mountains of Himachal Pradesh, learns that her husband stands accused in Saudi Arabia of the death of another Indian man. She embarks on a dramatic journey across the deserts of Rajasthan to seek the forgiveness of the only one who can pardon him, the dead man’s widow Meera. But Zeenat soon discovers that Meera’s fate is no less precarious than her own, reduced to a servile dependence on her father-in-law. In Hindi, English subtitles.
