The Jazz Composers Alliance, Inc. invites the public to the “Jazz is Now!”: Pass the Torch Concert featuring, Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews. The concert will be held at Gottwald Playhouse at CenterStage on February 23, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets available at the box office and Ticketmaster. $25 general admission $15 under 18 and student w/ID

Funds raised through the Pass the Torch Benefit concert will provide young musicians with opportunities for jazz apprenticeships with professional jazz musicians and a MAC computer lab that will link with an online music curriculum designed by Berklee College of Music. This type of access to high quality contemporary music instruction and mentorship is unprecedented for the City of Richmond, please support our efforts in developing the next generation of jazz musicians by attending the concert.
