Celebrate the culture, music, and art of the Polynesian islands at the de Young Museum in Golden Gate Park this Friday night from 5–8:45 pm. The de Young’s exceptional Jolika Collection of New Guinea art inspired the program for this unforgettable evening. The Kahurangi Maori Dance Theater of New Zealand, the only professional Maori Dance company touring North America, will electrify Wilsey Court with a live dance performance at 8:00 pm. From 6–8:00 pm, the Kapalakiko Hawaiian Band will perform all the genres that define Hawaiian music. Also, enjoy a special tasting of Nobilo Wines, a New Zealand based winery, from 6–8:00 pm. The special exhibition, Vivienne Westwood: 36 Years in Fashion, stays open until 8:45 pm with a reduced admission price of $10 for non-members (members are free).
