Parlour Flames is a collaboration between former OASIS guitarist Bonehead & singer songwriter Vinny Peculiar.
Since leaving OASIS Bonehead has worked on projects with Andy Rourke & Mike Joyce, has toured with Thailand’s Sek Loso & spent a spell co-hosting the BBC Radio Manchester Music Show. He played bass in Vinny’s band on a string of European shows & guitar on the Vinny's LP Other People Like Me.
Vinny continues to write, record & perform as a solo artist, releasing records through his Shadrack & Duxbury label. Collaborations include Luke Haines & Bill Drummond & former Smiths Mike Joyce, Andy Rourke & Craig Gannon were his band members at times. He has released 9 LPs of outsider pop music with a lyrical sensibility.
‘Parlour Flames’ is the title of the debut LP, Vinny & Bonehead have written & produced, playing guitars, basses, pianos & keyboards. The LP features Che Beresford [Badly Drawn Boy] on drums & percussion, Semay Woo on cellos, Anna Zweck [Samson & Delilah] on flute & backing vocals, Bob Marsh [Badly Drawn Boy, I Am Kloot] on trumpets & fugal horn. Ollie Collins [Cherry Ghost] played bass on a couple of tracks. The record is described as ‘an eclectic mix of guitar-based pop with a psychedelic twist, a folk-art-rock record, lyrically engaging & melodic’.
The 1st single Manchester Rain on 7'' coloured vinyl is released on Record Store Day 20th April.
The 2nd single Pop Music Football & Girls on digital download only released on 13th May.
‘Parlour Flames’ the LP comes out May 20 on CD, Vinyl & download via Cherry Red Records.
