This program captures the excitement of French ballet in the 20th century, including 'Suite en Blanc' by Serge Lifar, a choreographer whose roots go back to the Ballets Russes; 'L'Arlesienne' by Roland Petit, who defined the contemporary French style in the 1950s; and 'Bolero' by Maurice Bejart, who brought the spirit of rebellion to the explosive 1960s. The New York City Opera Orchestra provides the music.
