Pierre, a professional dancer, suffers from a serious heart disease. While he is waiting for a transplant which may save his life, he has nothing better to do than look at people from the balcony of his Paris apartment. When Elise, his sister with three kids and no husband, moves into his place to care for him, Pierre does not change his new habits. His observations of the teeming streets outside his window and the reunion with his family give Pierre hope and a new sense of how the rest of his life can be spent. “Paris” is a cinematic love letter to the city that seems to hide a story behind every shop window, small alley, street market or grand apartment building. The film explores the life and love possible only in Paris.
Director Cédric Klapisch gathers together some of the biggest actors in French cinema for a valentine to the city of lights. In this delightful romance, the all-star cast includes Oscar®-winner Juliette Binoche, Romain Duris, Mélanie Laurent, Fabrice Luchini, François Cluzet and Karin Viard.
