Parent Leadership Training April 14, 2011

Embrace and NACAC proudly present Parent Leadership Training. Studies show that foster and adoptive families are more successful when surrounded by encouragement and the support of other families on this journey.

We are looking for a select group of outstanding foster and adoptive parents from across the state of Texas who wish to learn more about launching and growing a parent-led support group in their area. These individuals should already be caring for children in their home, be in excellent standing with their child placing agency, and exhibit natural leadership skills.

This one-day intensive training opportunity will empower participants to support one another, advocate for their children and create a successful network or group for support and encouragement. The goal of this training is to develop a network of support groups accessible to families across the state, and create a unified voice for advocacy.

In addition, applications for Jockey Parent-Led Support Group Mini-Grants will be available at training! These grants of up to $1,000 will be awarded to a limited number of attendees and used to start and maintain new support groups launched by grantees.
