Grand Opening of our New Gallery Location!

Opening March 30th and on view through May 19, 2012, "PAPERS" is brought together by artist Rudi Molacek who incorporates long term artistic friendships into the framework of the exhibition. For Molacek, the moment of collective experiences between friends in artistic discourse is his driving force, and paper, for this group of artists, is the membrane between the internal artistic virtual space and the third dimensional external space occupied by the observer.

Utilizing works on or of paper, the five artists and long-time friends together create "PAPERS". Notes Molacek, "We are still interested in the same thing, we are still together on the way and we are still believers in art. Art is still able to express and contribute something very valuable to the world. It shows us how we belong to the world, how the world belongs to us and how to keep our personal visions, fantasies and memories and how to communicate them."

Featuring works which include a high precision wall installation by Gerwald Rockenschaub to Rudi Molacek's installation of paper towels colored and distressed with his brush cleaning marks, Herbert Brandl's powerful abstract expressionistic monotype, Maria Serebriakova's search for the human figure in abstract space and Chuck Connelly's bizarre world of drawing, each piece reminds the viewer that when viewing an artwork, we can never ignore our personal memories or associations.
