This art exhibit will feature Gene Mason Toutsi. She attained a BFA and a MED from Vrginia Commonwealth University. She is a retired art teaching after teaching in Henrico County for 33 years. She now enjoys working with student teachers at Virginia Commonwealth University, and working as a resident artist at Crossroads Art Center in Richmond.
Each paper cutting done by Gene is an original. She begins each effort with a drawing, then utilizes exacto knives and scissors to create the positive/negative image. Additional papers may later be used to enhance the images or add color. She loves the challenge of finding solutions to her creative puzzles. Her subject matter usually involves people, places, history or animals.
