Pants Velour originated at Cornell University before relocating to New York City. The band fuses hip hop, rock, and soul sensibilities to form a sound that has been likened to the Beastie Boys, The Roots, and Black Eyed Peas, or in the words of the DC City Paper, "party-ready hip-hop." The sharp lyrics, catchy melodies and sophisticated arrangements give the music a feeling that is distinctly its own and makes for a dynamic live show that keeps you coming back for more.

The band has headlined many of the best venues in NYC, Philly, and DC as well as opening for artists such as Anti-Pop Consortium and Talib Kweli. The band is currently in the studio working on their debut EP.
