Panna - Film (B/W -1944). Directed by Najam Naqvi. Cast: P. Jairaj, Geeta Nizami, David, Kusum Deshpande, Balraj, Raja Paranjpe and others. In collaboration with Cine Society. Panna (Geeta Nizami) is a woman who sings and dances for a living. Killing a person in self-defence, she is sentenced to Kala Paani, the infamous cellular jail set up by the British in Port Blair. During the Second World War, the Japanese take over the jail.
