Paintings by Mr. Suresh Lokre, Ms. Manissha Khanna & Ms. Shalini Gupta. Manissha Khanna is indoctrinated into the Art of Living. Moving towards higher levels of spiritual elevation she paints almost as if in answer to some inner discourse, as part of processing these teachings within. Fully aware of her level of progression internally as also in art practice, her visual language yet rests on scaffoldings of the physical, wherein its very formal qualities manifest the dominance of matter over spirit that still besets her, admittedly more in terms of vocabulary than in any trappings of real life. Her transcendental outreaches gain credence through the gradual smoothening of form and composition through honest expression and self-assessment. Keen on psychology, aroused by challenge, she is as ardent an observer of people as of the effects of paint and pigment on her canvas, wherein the power-packed imagery raises interest and anticipation about the future twists and turns in the stylistic growth of this artist. Shalini Gupta write-up: Shalini Gupta did her graduation from Allahabad University followed by a intensive course in child Psychology from MMI Gurgaon. Currently she is working with I-Discoveri preschool as a educationist. She is also undergoing a regorous training in oil painting under an eminent artist Vijaya Baggai and Mr. Basak. Her trip to UK every year exposes her to the great work by old masters which has a profound effect on her paintings.
