The Trojan Women (1971) directed by Michael Cacoyannis, is based on his acclaimed 1963 New York staging of the Euripides tragedy written in 415 BC featuring the four Trojan women who appear in the final chapter of the Iliad. The high-powered cast includes Katherine Hepburn as Trojan queen Hecuba, Geneviève Bujold as Cassandra, Vanessa Redgrave as Andromache, and Irene Papas as Helen.

Enjoy popcorn and soft drinks at this screening of a film tour de force, followed by light refreshments and discussion moderated by classics scholar Dr. Kathy Gaca of Vanderbilt University.
