Background:
Automobile accidents are the leading cause of death for children above three and adults under thirty-three. In 2004, over 42,000 people died on American roadways. The loss of life is staggering. The financial cost of $230 billion dollars last year is staggering. The cost and suffering from injuries and accidents worldwide is staggering. A successful collision avoidance system would be of great benefit to all.
Our belief is that viable collision avoidance systems will be developed for automobiles and that these systems will be contained and controlled in individual vehicles. Engineering, not fundamental breakthroughs, will lead to progressively better collision avoidance features built into newer cars. Progress accelerates with more focus and public awareness. We hope accelerate engineering efforts using public awareness, technical focus, and sensible legislation to bring a "car that will not crash" to market sooner.
PACT will be involved in changing awareness and placing this solution within reach. We wish to place automobile accident avoidence technology on the public agenda, focus transportation technology towards this goal, and remove obstacles for the testing and adoption of this technology.

COST & REGISTRATION:
Free.
