Celebrate the Fogfest’s 25th Anniversary with music, art, food, marching bands, the Fogfest Photo Contest and The 2nd Annual Sand Castle and Sand Sculpture Contest!
The Pacific Coast Fog Fest was created in 1986 to promote Pacifica and to celebrate our marvelous coastal climate. The last full weekend of September was chosen because historically the weather is unbeatable. The Fog Fest is a two-day music and arts & crafts event, with over 150 arts and crafts booths, the Discover Pacifica Parade and Marching Band Competition, 3 stages of top quality live entertainment, and plenty of tasty food and drink to please any appetite.
Our creative celebration of sun, sand and surf that defines life on the coast will again present you with a host of activities. This year our outstanding event is celebrating its 25th Anniversary and takes place on September 25th and 26th. As in the past, we will showcase some of the very best artists in the greater Bay Area, both in the arts and crafts booths and in the music venues featuring 25 great bands from multiple genres. For our 25th anniversary we will be bringing back the Fandango Party the night of Friday September 24th at the Sanchez Adobe Historic Site. Join us for a night of dancing, food, drink and fun!
The Fog Fest also features The Fog Bank Contest where entrants stop by their local bank to guess the number of cotton balls in this year’s Fog Bank. Winners at each bank are awarded a $50 cash prize. The Fog Fest Photo Contest features photos taken this year that best capture Pacifica through its people, scenery, or history.
We are thrilled to announce that we will once again feature our annual Sand Castle and Sand Sculpture Contest after its huge success in 2009. This is a chance for your business, family, group or organization to use your creativity, have fun, enjoy the sun, and build the sand castle of your dreams during the Pacific Coast Fog Fest. No experience is necessary and amateur teams are welcome!
Non-business teams may enter free of charge. Business entries and sponsorships are $250 which will go to cover event expenses. The sponsoring businesses will receive on-site advertising on the Contest Sponsorship Wall where 80,000 Fog Fest attendees will congregate to see the sculptures being built on Saturday and the awarding of the prizes on Sunday. They will also receive acknowledgements during the festival and in public announcements in Peninsula newspapers. The Fog Fest is regularly attended by over 80,000 people every year and is a premier event for the peninsula. Businesses/organizations wishing to enter or sponsor a team should contact the contest coordinator at: [email protected]
Prizes will be awarded to the top three winners. The number of Entries will be restricted, so sign up quickly! The deadline is September 1st, 2010 and entries will be considered on a first come basis.
