The Pacific Coast Fog Fest was created in 1986 to promote Pacifica and to celebrate our marvelous coastal climate. The last full weekend of September was chosen because historically the weather is unbeatable. The Fog Fest is a two-day music and arts & crafts event, with over 150 arts and crafts booths, 3 stages of top quality live entertainment, and plenty of tasty food and drink to please any appetite.

This year this outstanding event takes place on September 26th and 27th. As in the past, we will showcase some of the very best artists in the greater Bay Area, both in the arts and crafts booths and in the music venues. Our creative celebration of sun, sand and surf that defines life on the coast will once again present a host of activities.

This year we are thrilled to announce that we will feature the first annual Sand Castle and Sand Sculpture Contest. This is a chance for your family, group or organization to use your creativity, have fun, enjoy the sun and build the sand castle of your dreams during the Pacific Coast Fog Fest No experience is necessary and amateur teams are welcome!

Teams entering the contest are expected to secure a local business sponsorship of $250 that will go to cover event expenses. The sponsoring business will receive on-site advertising and acknowledgements during the festival and in public announcements in Peninsula newspapers. The Fog Fest is regularly attended by over 80,000 people every year and is a premier event for the peninsula.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three winners to include cash prizes and ribbons, along with the prestige of being crowned the winners of the 1st annual Fog Festival Sand Castle Contest!

Entries are restricted to 10 teams so sign up quickly! The deadline is August 31, 2009 and entries will be considered on a first come basis once your entry fee is received.
