Pacific Boychoir w/Marcus Shelby Jazz Orchestra & Faye Carol April 25, 2009

The Pacific Boychoir, called "Astonishing" by the LA Times, and the Marcus Shelby Jazz Orchestra, called "Superb" by the SF Chronicle, join forces in an unprecedented collaboration. The ensembles perform arrangements of classics by Duke Ellington on the 110th anniversary of his birth, as well as arrangements of works by Marcus Shelby and Cole Porter.
Original choral arrangements by Christopher Kula and original charts by Marcus Shelby.
The PBA w/MSJO concert program will also be performed Friday, April 24 at San Francisco's Grace Cathedral, 1100 California St., SF 7pm
Grace Cathedral , SF is the same venue where Ellington premiered the first of his Sacred Concerts in 1965.
