A funny thing happens to audiences when they see Pablo Francisco live. In a matter of minutes, the polite reception crowds often reserve for strangers quickly dissolves into jolts of boisterous laughter and applause. What accounts for the transformation? Namely, this Tucson native's ability to evoke hilarious scenes with his striking, off-the-wall, sound effects and loads of his own boundless imagination. Pablo's spot-on depiction of action-movie previews, including one featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger as a tortilla vendor targeted by the mob, is just one good example. Whether Pablo is recreating a nightclub dance floor or spoofing Telemundo's intensely dramatic Spanish-language soap operas, his hilarious live performance will leave you wondering how one man can play so many crazy characters so convincingly.

A lifelong comedy junkie, as kid Pablo competed with a friend to see who could video tape more comics from television. He got his first professional break at age 17, when he and his aforementioned buddy formed a duo called the "Blowout Boys," snuck into a local steakhouse, and took honors in a comedy competition against older, but clearly inferior opponents. "A lot of them read their stuff from notes. At least we had memorized our material!" recalls Pablo.

From humble beginnings, big things have started to happen. In addition to his Comedy Central Presents half-hour special, Showtime s Full Frontal Comedy, Pablo was a Mad TV cast member (season 2). Pablo also has one of the top-selling comedy DVD s in the nation "Bits and Pieces." You can check Pablo out on Dish Network s SiTV, where he hosts Latino Laugh Festival: The Show. Pablo, now an L.A. resident, is busy distinguishing himself in top clubs around the country, among veteran comics who threw away the script years ago.
