Owen Egerton, Meet the Author event at Austin Public Library November 17, 2008

Owen Egerton, the multiple award winning author of How Best to Avoid Dying, a collection of humorous and compelling short stories about life and death, will be taking part in the Austin Public Library 'Meet the Author' series on November 17th at 7:00pm.

This is an excellent opportunity for any fans of How Best to Avoid Dying or any other of Owen's work to meet him in person!

Meet the Author, Owen Egerton at 7:00 p.m. on November 17 at the Spicewood Springs Branch of the Austin Public Library, 8637 Spicewood Springs Rd. to discuss this Austin writer's latest collection of short stories, How Best to Avoid Dying.

The collection has been described by critics as "the literary equivalent of chocolate covered oysters," "divinely weird," and "often heart-wrenching." Despite the title, it should not be confused with a self-help book, although for some, it may be used as such.

Owen will be reading from his book, and a discussion will follow, moderated by Dr. Brian Doherty of the UT English Department. The discussion is free and open to the public
