"You never saw it comin' and there they are. New with an old soul. As if Kevin's guitar and Jess' voice weren't enough, their blend is like a prized tea; their many talents unfold like flavors. I love to listen to them and I always want to hear more. They are going to be a hit." -Bill Danoff (of the Starland Vocal Band, and writer of "Take Me Home Country Roads" and "Afternoon Delight")

Jess Bennett and Kevin Benz are both London-born singer songwriters who met during their senior year at Georgetown University. Upon graduating in May of 2009 they formed Parliament Hill. Often joined by Laura Palmaro on keys, Parliament Hill has just finished recording their first album with the renowned producer and musician, John Jennings.

There are the musicians on the covers of Rolling Stone. There are the bands playing live in front of millions on T.V. There are the artists that have had their work played on the radio. And there are the countless thousands of others. Songwriters, musicians, with plenty of drive and talent, crouched at the bottom of the murky lake of obscurity and ready to spring with all their might, hoping to breach the surface and emerge into the bright, admiring world above.

Owen Danoff, a 20-year old singer/songwriter/bassist/composer from Washington, D.C., is one of them.

Owen was born into a musical family. His father, Bill Danoff, was a member of Starland Vocal Band and wrote hit songs such as "Country Roads" and "Afternoon Delight", the latter earning him two Grammy awards. At age 12, Owen started playing the bass guitar, and at age 16, he started writing songs. Currently, he is a student at Berklee College of Music, majoring in music composition for film.

Owen is constantly developing and refining his skills in the field of songwriting. Drawing on a lifelong appreciation for good melodies, good lyrics, and pop music, Owen is constantly developing and refining his skills in the field of songwriting.

Owen has also played bass at some of the D.C. area's finest venues. He was a guest on Jon Carroll's "Love Returns" show at the Barns at Wolf Trap in 2008, and played at Strathmore Music Hall as part of Bandhouse Gigs' Woodstock 40th anniversary tribute show in summer 2009. Owen has also appeared multiple times at the Wheeler Opera House in Aspen, Colorado, as a part of the annual John Denver Tribute Concert.
