This is a monthly meeting of the DC chapter of OWASP (the Open Web Application Security Project), which is designed to be a forum for local web professionals to come together and discuss Web Application Security in an open and collaborative environment.

Due to the Portugal Summit and other commitments we will not be holding a meeting in November. Instead we will be holding a meeting December 10th at 6:30pm. We will be holding it at the DC office of Deloitte, located at 1001 G ST NW - mere steps away from Metro Center. Directions are at the end of the email.

This month, our main presenter will be Kevin Johnson, a Senior Security Analyst with InGuardians

Kevin cameto security from a development and system administration background. He has many years of experience performing security services for fortune 100 companies, and contributes to a large number of open source security projects. Kevin founded and leads the development on B.A.S.E., Samurai, SecTools and Yokoso! projects.

Kevin is an instructor for SANS, authoring and teaching Security 542, Web Application Pen-Testing In-Depth and teaching other SANS classes such as the Incident Handling and Hacker Techniques class. He has presented to many organizations, including InfraGard, ISACA, ISSA and the University of Florida.

We'll also have open discussion (time allowing), including a discussion of the events at the OWASP EU Summit as well as some other developments that concern the local chapter.
