From the moment we met them, connected with them, maybe, even fell in love with them… our lives changed. The chemistry is there. The pull to be with them is there 24/7. They are in our days and nights in thought, spirit, and desires, maybe even to the point of feeling invasive. We can sense that person when they are miles away; even if we aren’t in contact with them. Many times, we try to stay away from them, trying to be respectful of their lives and relationships (and our own) but it is difficult, to say the least.

Sometimes we find ourselves doing things and behaving in ways that we vowed to never do. Our insides cry out in pain at the idea of being away from that person and it effects us deeply. We think about talking to friends about it but either they won’t understand or we don’t feel safe enough to share. So, we keep it to ourselves. But, many times, friends and family already wonder what’s going on. They feel the connection. This, of course, can cause problems.
What do you do in a case like this? How do you behave? How do you deal with the intense emotions that come up? How do you control such strong impulses? What about the relationship you’re in now? How do you deal with that? How do you make sense of it all? How do you stop the pain and the insanity?

Overwhelming Connections, created and facilitated by Karen Pittsley, is devoted to understanding and healing those obsessive, overwhelming, and often painful connections we can have with certain people in our lives. We will look at why these internal reactions occur, how we can work with them, and how we can heal from them. Understanding that life goes on regardless of how we feel, we will also look at how to have a life after (or during) these connections regardless of whether or not we are in a relationship with the person. And, of course, we will discuss how to manage ourselves and our emotions when we cross paths with this person later in life. Come learn how to live with an Overwhelming Connection.
