The “Read the Movie, Watch the Book” selection is based on the 1996 book by Elmore Leonard. Out of Sight tells the story of small-time bank robber Jack Foley (George Clooney) and U.S. marshal Karen Sisco (Jennifer Lopez). An unlikely kidnapping leads the two to an even unlikelier flirtation. With flashbacks and many intersecting plots and subplots, the Steven Soderbergh-directed movie is intriguing and complex. It is rated R. Discussion time will follow the movie. Free and open to the public.
