Out of Fire and Valor: Staten Island War Memorials Photographed by Cal Snyder June 14, 2007

A collection of striking photographs by Marine Corps veteran Cal Snyder documents the art, drama, and emotion of war memorials all over Staten Island. These tributes-whether plaques, statues, or plantings-tell stories of pride and sorrow that are integral to the history of Staten Island. The exhibit features color photographs of 23 of Staten Island's approximately 100 war memorials and commentary from the photographer.
