"Our Common Ground" A Family Festival in Morningside Park October 14, 2006

Festival History:
The first Common Ground Festival was organized in 1997 to mobilize the neighborhood’s institutions and individuals around the issues of restoring and renewing the park. This year’s festival continues that tradition by recognizing the important contributions of neighborhood children and families in the renewal process.

This Year’s Theme and Activities:
The 2006 festival will draw on the rich ethnic and cultural tradition of Harlem. Many activities will center around children and families. Planned activities include a Double Dutch competition, a Basketball Clinic, a performance by the Swedish Cottage Marionette Theater, and Gospel Choir performances.
