Other Minds 16th New Music Festival March 5, 2011

Other Minds (OM), a San Francisco-based new music Festival, has announced the schedule for its 16 annual installment, to take place March 3-5, 2011 at the Jewish Community Center in San Francisco.

Each year OM invites musicians of differing nationalities, ages, and styles. This year's composers include: Louis Andriessen (Netherlands), I Wayan Balawan (Indonesia), Han Bennink (Netherlands), Kyle Gann (U.S.), Janice Giteck (U.S.), David A. Jaffe (U.S.), Jason Moran (U.S.), and Agata Zubel (Poland). Performers include: Jason Moran and The Bandwagon, Fred Frith (guitar), Monica Germino (violin), Andrew Schloss (percussion), the Seattle Chamber Players, Trimpin (sound sculptor), Sarah Cahill (piano), Left Coast Chamber Ensemble, Wendy Tamis (harp), Richard Worn (bass), Eric Zivian (piano), the Del Sol String Quartet, and Cristina Zavalloni (voice), among others.

Each concert (8pm) will be preceded by a panel discussion (7pm).
