Short Cuts Cinema Classics screens Othello (Oliver Parker, 1995) in the Studio Theatre. Starring Lawrence Fishburne and Kenneth Branagh.

Laurence Fishburne plays the Moorish general Othello, who returns a hero after crushing an invading Turkish army near Cyprus. Pledged to marry the lovely Desdemona (Irène Jacob), Othello ignores the advice of her own father, who tells him that she may have a deceptive nature. Meanwhile, Othello's aide Iago (Kenneth Branagh), jealous over the promotion of his rival Cassio (Nathaniel Parker), plots to convince Othello that Desdemona and Cassio are lovers.
