Gillett Entertainment Group, in collaboration with Greenland and Higher Ground, are thrilled to
announce the inception of OSHEAGA, a brand new music and arts festival that will be held during
Labour Day Weekend in Montreal, at the scenic Parc Jean Drapeau.
In its inaugural year, OSHEAGA will showcase over 40 bands on 4 stages (see line up above).
Diversity will be at the forefront of the musical celebration, as MEG Montreal (Montreal Eclectic
Groove) lends its musical flair to OSHEAGA and takes over one of the stages for a flurry of
alternative sensations and a weekend full of musical discoveries.
The OSHEAGA Music and Arts Festival is a celebration of Montreal’s joie de vivre: equal parts
musical fervor, artistic legacy and cultural riches. Drawing its name from the Iroquois word meaning
"large rapids," the OSHEAGA Music and Arts Festival is a rock amidst these currents; nodding to
Montreal’s cultural heritage, and welcoming the pulsating present and future of the city’s music
scenes.
The OSHEAGA Music and Arts Festival site is located at Parc Jean Drapeau, on the beautiful St-
Helene Island, the Montreal landmark made for Expo '67 and now an open-air art gallery in which
world-renown works of public art and architecture may be admired including: Alexander Calder's
"Man", Buckminster Fullers Geodesic Dome and Sebastian’s "Puerta de la Amistad".
The creation of OSHEAGA Music and Arts festival truly underlines Montreal's passion to integrate
sweet sights and sounds into daily life. OSHEAGA stands out as a 2 day jam-packed whirlwind
musical experience that offers homegrown and international artists a platform from which to sound
off. So sign off the summer in style at OSHEAGA, the new musical experience!
