Inspired by the colors and culture of the different states of Mexico, Echoes Beyond Celebration explores how the country's richness can be expressed through dance. While there is no particular timeline dictating an era, Orgullo Mestizo Folk Ballet spans through generations displaying the eclectic styles of movement derived of the histories of each region. As the regions vary, so do the costumes; some changes even occurring with the "lights up". With the intricate details and designs appointed to each costume, one can only relish in the motions of the dancers as they manipulate the space on (and off!) the stage. Through music and movement we learn that death does not have to be a stark ending but could be a time of celebrating the path of life.

Orgullo Mestizo Folk Ballet has used the last 12 years to expose the abundance of diversity and beauty that Mexico has to offer. Samuel Gonzalez, the artistic director of this wonderful company, continuously strives towards his primary goal of portraying the Mexican heritage through the art of dance. This non-profit organization is dedicated to the preservation of Mexican folklore by performing and characterizing dances through a unique and innovative fusion of tradition with a theatrical twist. The result is a breathtaking experience that connects the audience to the years of social festivities and joyous moments that paint the vast history that defines Mexico.
