Shakespeare's play "Othello" is a tragedy around the year 1603. Because of its varied themes--racism, love, jealousy and betrayal, the play remains relevant to the present day, and is still quite popular.

Giuseppe Verdi's opera version of Shakespeare's "Othello" was first perfomed in Milan in 1887, and it is widely regarded as a classic. And now China is getting its own run of the performance.
