Opera Lovers Film Series: M Butterfly (1993) September 30, 2009

Based on Puccini's 'Madama Butterfly,' this romantic drama tells the story of a French diplomat who falls for beautiful Chinese opera performer Song. However Song is not who she seems to be, and the diplomat is forced to face some hard truths. This screening compliments the Opera Company of Philadelphia's fall production of 'Madama Butterfly.'
