Well Meetup.com have just announced that they need to start charging meetup groups a monthly fee. And that's just not fair for a little group like us, since it eats into the drinking money! Instead, we're trying Upcoming.org.
Come along and talk to like-minded hackers and geeks about opensource, technology and programming.
This month we will endeavour to find a wifi-enabled venue, and Glennji will be on hand with a bastardised Linux laptop which he will install anything upon - and I mean do mean anything, he's running his own hacked kernel for cryin' out loud!

I'm sorry guys, this isn't on - things have just been thrown out by us having to close the Meetup. Glenn and I still wish to have _at least_ one more meetup to discuss our options as a group and what we should do - if anyone has any preferences on when and where, please post them as it will be very much appreciated. Sorry again for the late notice.

I'd like to suggest meeting at "Aqua e Vino", a lush 1920s style wine bar in Yarraville. 10 min from the city center.
Just drive over the Westgate and you're there. I've been there several times. Excellent service.
