Opening Reception: Living with Art September 11, 2009

Bruce and Mary Leep have assembled a large and eclectic collection of art, focusing on contemporary and emerging artists. The exhibit will contain single works from a number of artists from Indiana and the Chicago area that are just coming into prominence. A second part of the exhibit offers pieces considered "outsider art,” work from self-trained or untrained artists which often have a primitive quality but still make a powerful artistic statement. The third part of the exhibit features works by Chicago artist Miguel Malagon, who draws particularly on his Hispanic heritage to create striking images of contemporary life.
