Asian American Women Artists Association (AAWAA) and FLAX art & design present "So What Do You Have To Say For Yourself", curated by Patricia Carino. Join us during San Francisco's First Thursday art gallery walk for light refreshments and a toast to the opening of this exhibit.

Generation Y or Millennials, born between the early 1980's to early 2000's and grew up in a high-speed Internet, post 9/11, social-media frenzied, and entrepreneurial era. Anxious corporations upload tutorial videos on how to manage this Millennial generation and news articles describe them as entitled, eager, and thirsty for instant gratification. Mainstream media focuses on the age, solely the "under 30's crowd." The largest generation since the baby-boomers, Gen Y'ers are preparing to take the lead.

"So What Do You Have To Say For Yourself?" is an exhibition that asks you to reframe our understanding of this generation. Let us move from the didactic space of how one should "manage" them, but rather, investigate what and who comprises this new generation.

To do so, Curator Patricia Carino, and AAWAA have come together to ask "What is the Asian American Women's experience? What do they have to say for themselves?"
