TheInternational Alliance for Women in Music (IAWM) and the ChinaConservatory of Music (CCM) are pleased to announce the “2008 BeijingInternational Congress on Women in Music” to be held April 18-22, 2008,in Beijing. The five-day congress will feature established womencomposers from more than 20 nations and regions, as well as students,musicologists, educators, performers and conductors who will contributetheir creativity in concerts, workshops, and panel discussions. Duringthe five-day congress, 12 concerts will be held and 118 music workswill be presented, covering a vast range of orchestral music, stringmusic, chamber music, folk music, electronic music, etc. Participantswill be proud to share the rich music traditions by women from theirown nations and stimulated by colorful traditional and innovativecontemporary music from many countries, especially Asian. All musiclovers, composers, performers, conductors, musicologists, artsorganizers, educators, publishers, students, etc., both female andmale, are invited to register for the Congress and the public isinvited to attend all the concerts and events.
